Sticks & Stones | Percussion Ensemble 2020 -
Sticks & Stones is a new percussion ensemble comprised of Tracie Comber and Anna Kho. The ensemble is based in Queensland and was formed in late 2019 between two percussionists and educators in hopes to perform, celebrate and inspire percussion repertoire, compositions and workshops for students, teachers, percussion enthusiasts and audience members. As Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University alumni, the two female percussionists are versatile through their various orchestral, ensemble, chamber and solo experiences in diverse genres, such as classical, jazz, musical theatre, new music, and contemporary music. Together they have developed a passion for melodically and rhythmically groovy repertoire that utilise various instruments and found objects of textures and timbres – hence the ensemble name, Sticks & Stones.
Solo Project 'Heenaa' | Vocal & Vibraphone 2019 -
My solo project, vocal and vibraphone, has been a side project of mine for years. However, in late 2019, I began planning on taking this project further and developing it. I intend on doing cover of songs, and releasing it on social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook and SoundCloud. I've also always had a passion in writing songs and story-telling, so I hope for you all to hear it in the future!
Musicians Unmuted | A New Podcast 2017 -
Musicians Unmuted is a new podcast in 2017 that features musicians and other related professions that contribute to the Brisbane music scene community. It is hosted by yours truly and recorded by my friends, Daniel Kassulke and Maya Luski. This idea was inspired by my everyday discussion with musicians, and the unique and interesting stories they tell. It intrigues me as to how so many different people from various backgrounds come together and end up in music. From these experiences, I've learnt so much from them all and I would like to share that with you, the audience. It gives us a little taste of the people and their professions in our local Brisbane music scene, and why they do what they do today. The podcast is in hope to motivate acknowledgement, awareness and exposure to the amazing and ever-growing Brisbane music scene that has established itself in Australia.
